As 2025 quickly comes to a close, I have felt the desire to write one last devotional—to end this year with a word that has stirred deeply within me. Recently, a message tugged at my heart so strongly that I knew it needed to be shared. There is a verse that jumpstarted my spirit like never before. I reread it again and again, and each time its meaning sank deeper into me. I want this truth to take root and settle firmly—enfolding my heart like a shield, guarding me whenever the enemy seeks to rob or shake my confidence in the Lord.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight. Jude 1:24, AMP
I long to place all my weakness, my sinfulness, my shame, my guilt, and every sense of unworthiness into His hands—for He alone is able to keep me and present me faultless before the presence of His glory. Hallelujah! Isn’t this verse beautiful?
Have you ever had thoughts like these: If God knew the sins I’m hiding, even He wouldn’t forgive me… I am such a wretched person—surely no one can love or accept me… God will judge my sins and cast me into eternal hell… I am so weak; I want to break through, but I can’t resist temptation… The list is endless. Beloved reader, you are not alone. Even born-again Christians battle these tormenting thoughts. The devil is relentless. Scripture says he stands before God accusing us of our faults and failures (Rev. 12:10, paraphrased). And this is why the verse above is so indescribably beautiful. In ourselves, we are condemned to everlasting hell—but Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who took away our sin at the Cross, declares that He Himself will present us faultless and blameless before the throne of God—with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight!
So do not be downcast. Do not be fearful. Lift your head high. Look toward Him from the depths of your weakness, despair, temptations, hopelessness, and even your unfaithfulness. Out of all your ruined purposes and empty efforts, look up—unto Him who has saved you from hell and total destruction, now and forevermore.
Let me remind you—as much as I remind myself—that we have been saved from the penalty of sin through justification by faith (as believers who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior), we are being saved from the power of sin through sanctification (as the Holy Spirit strengthens us daily), and we will one day be saved from the presence of sin when Christ returns and presents us faultless in the presence of His glory.
Rejoice, dearly beloved. Let your heart be strengthened and your confidence rise as you give Him your full, unrestrained devotion. May your life, your thoughts, and your desires be centered wholly on our Savior, Jesus Christ—to whom all glory belongs.
My unknown sins are buried in the unknown deeps of His Almighty sacrifice.
